Mr. Boo

So Mr Boo, is trying out a few new hobbies. He's becoming a bit of a couch tater tot. He loves the Wiggles. As seen from his favorite viewing position.


Okay, so maybe not a tater tot since he won't sit still for the entire thing, but wo be unto he or she who tries to stop or pause his music.


He's also helping daddy get ready for the arrival of his little brother (whom he really has no clue is coming).



And finally tonight he decided to try reading before falling asleep.


He needs a little work on his form.



And of course he has finally decided he likes walking.(No pics of that.)

Mr. Boo discovers the Snow

I didn't know about it until it was all over so no pictures until after the fact. But Da and Mr Boo ran to the library to drop off some books, and when they got back Mr. Boo wanted to check out the white stuff.

So now there are small footprints going up and down our driveway. He was having a blast. So he decided to drop to his knees to futher explore. Again he was having fun.

Then he decided to drop to all four and crawl through the stuff. We only have a couple inches on the Driveway, but that's all it took. Once his hands hit the stuff the fun was OVER!

Mommy brings in the now crying Mr. Boo, we pull off his snow coated shoes and pants and daddy took him upstairs and warmed his frozen finners in a stream of slightly warm water.

Thus is it official that Mr. Boo is NOT his cousins from South Weber, at least not the one(s) that would toddle out into the foot deep snow on his parents bedroom deck in just a diaper.

It was good, but I'm sure at least one of the two sis-in laws who were singing will want it permanently banished from the Interweb.

As his mom I will add another - #7 - for Christmas of 2004 I gave my mother a Christmas to remember!! I spent the night at home instead of my apartment and at 2 am (after Santa was thru putting out his stuff and SOUND asleep) I sneaked back upstairs and set the kitchen table with replacements for my mom's china that she had watched break all over the kitchen floor a few years before when the hutch fell off the base of her china cabinet. I had found a place online to order replacement pieces of older china designs that were no longer available.

Before I let her into the kitchen Christmas morning to see my surprise I gave her a beautifully wrapped box of Kleenex...she laughed and said ...like I am really gonna need this on Christmas day...and Kecia said "Oh, you will!" I then led her into the kitchen to see the whole table set with dinner plates, salad plates, dessert and soup bowls, tea cups and saucers, serving platters and serving dishes...even a gravy bowl.

She needed the tissues!

Two Years and counting

So here we sit at home on our two year anniversary. How boring we are. Oh well, between my having to work a little late tonight (though a coworker stepped in and let me escape at five instead of six or later, thanks Keith.) And having a sick 14 month old, nothing significant was really available.

I also need to add this picture of Boo, yesterday after work, when his mommy ran to the store. He'd play with me for a couple minutes then he'd crawl up stairs and next thing I'd hear would be him crying. I'd go up and this is what I would see.

A belated Halloween post

Here we see our little boo checking out the two pumpkins daddy grew this summer.



Time to carve a pumpkin for Halloween. I chose the larger of the two to actually carve.


I started with a knife but quickly decided that would take way to long.

What to do????

Power Tools! Calling one trusty reciprocating saw.



Okay so Da only took one picture of me at work and didn't think to take video like Kecia and Glen did.

Next I used a knife to do the finer details like eyes, nose and mouth.



Then it was back to the Saw to cut the opening in the back for the blacklight. I managed to cut the opening just right so that it was big enough for the light, yet tight enough to keep the light in place.



And then I set it up, plugged it in, put some tissue across the inside of the face to make him glow better. Here he is all finished.



And behold and be frightened of the final project.



Some facts about this pumpkin. I planted one seed from a package of "Jumbo Sized Pumpkin" seeds from walmart. Like the rest of our small garden it was located in our front flower garden (someday we'll just plan flowers there). It took over the entire patch all to produce two pumpkins. Due to that one plant, we only got a few crookneck from the three hills I planted. If our Tomatoes hadn't grown up higher they probably would have been overwhelmed as well.

This Pumpkin weighed about 75 lbs, the smaller one weighed in at about 55 lbs. According to our bathroom scale that is, so I'm not so sure how accurate it is.

When cut open the rind was almost three inches thick, yet compared to smaller pumpkins it was much easier and less messy to clean. Tommorrow the remains of this Jack-O-Lantern will go in the trash, but what am I to do with the other pumpkin? Anyone want to make many, many, many pies?

And since Kecia asked. Here is Boo in his costume. He did better than last year by lasting for about 15 minutes in it (last year he cried the entire five minutes we had him costumed for pictures.) So only the one picture. This and some similar costumes will be seen over the next few years, as Da is somewhat lazy when it comes to choosing costumes, and thus we rely on the stock pile of M&M costumes her sister has for her kids. They have at least one for each year/age group at least through age five or six. (okay maybe not that many but they have several of these costumes).
