Halloween

Don't these two just look delighted?

Here's all four of them dressed up! Alex is a monkey, and it was going to be funny that Dirk was a banana, so the banana was carrying the monkey. But Alex did not at all like being a monkey. Ben loved his beaver costume, and Simon was happy to be a chicken.

Ben wanted to be a beaver for Halloween. I don't know where he got the idea, but he never changed his mind. Since you can't buy a beaver costume (surprisingly, that's not a popular choice for Halloween), I made him a beaver.

Here's the pumpkin carving!

This isn't Halloween, but it was a cute smile from Alex.

This picture has nothing to do with Halloween either. Ben wanted to put on his mittens, so we put them on. We only have one pair of kid-size mittens. Simon wanted mittens too, so instead of throwing a fit about not having anymore mittens, he just went and got the oven mitts out of the drawer. He wore these as his "mittens" for days.

Six Month Check-up

Since Kecia reported on baby Leah's 2 month stats, I thought we'd better report on Alex's 6 month check-up.

Height 27.5 Inches 83rd percentile
Weight 20.86 lbs 93rd percentile
Head 18 inches 93rd percentile.

He's a big, healthy 6 month old, who's full of grins and giggles. He'll now entertain himself for periods of time on the floor. He rolls around, though not with great control of his destination. we periodically have to pull him out from under the edge of the couch. And on one occasion Melinda came in to find his brothers trying to help him get further under the couch.

He gets extra smiley when ever I come home from work, and starts to fuss if I don't give him a hug ASAP.   I still need to download the Halloween pictures so we can post those.  Not that Alex ever tolerated his costume for more than a couple seconds.

Some Random Photo's

Just A few random photo's of the boys from my camera.

First, Alex and me

A Very Happy Simon playing in the tub.

Our Chubby baby clear back in July, he's still chubby and at 4 1/2 months is probably nearing 20 lbs (he was at 18 at his four month checkup.)

Finally all three of our boys smiling for my Camera.
It's better than what the professional got when we took em in for portraits

New Alex pics

Baby Alex is growing up! He's three and a half months old, and is wearing size three diapers. He's lost the newborn look, and is now a chubby, smiley infant. He likes to eat burp cloths, and recently discovered that his thumb likes to be in his mouth. He's trying to roll over, but can't get his shoulder out of the way. Simon likes to kiss him and burp him. Ben looks at him occasionally. He loves sleeping, and being held by an adult who is not allowed to sit down, but must stand and sway. He clings to your shoulder now, and likes to play with hands. He can almost hold a toy, but usually ends up bonking himself in the head with it, so toys are still not a favorite activity yet.

We sure love our chubby little guy!

At the parade

We all went to watch the miniature float parade this evening. I love our city parade. I can't wait for my boys to be big enough to participate. But this year, we were all happy spectators:

Alex and Dad in hats:

Nancy was happy to be there. Alex had his grump on:

Simon was the best dancer on the sidelines:

Also, (this has nothing to do with the parade) we're thinking we should buy the boys a bigger backyard pool:

Hairbows!

My one regret about not having a daughter is the hairbows. I love the huge flowers, bigger than the baby's face, with a froth of ribbons overwhelming the wispy hair. When my niece came to visit, she brought her hairbows with her, and Ben and Simon were happy to model them.

But you can't put boys in ribbons and flowers. And so here we have Alex in his manly hairbows. I was going to call them hairballs, but that word is already taken. Isn't he cute?
