Mr. Boo Goes to Nursery

It's been several months since Dirk has been gone to drill on a week when I had to teach.  In that time, Mr. Boo has gone from a baby who would sit on someone else's lap to a busy toddler.  I brought him some toys and crackers and got up to teach.

He toodled around just fine until he decided to stand up under the table.  I interrupted a discussion on Nephi's obedience to exclaim, "oh no! Did you get a bonk?" and scooped him up.

A sister in the class took him from me and disappeared into the hallway.  A few minutes later, she returned without him.

After class, she said she'd taken him to nursery.  He hits that magic age in another 7 weeks.  So I went to get him.  He turned around when he heard my voice, then went back to what he was doing.  Mom is boring - he had new toys!

The nursery leader said he could stay, so I enjoyed a peaceful class.  When I picked him up, he was enthusiastically signing, "music."  They must have had singing time, and there's nothing Mr. Boo likes as much as songs.

The hard part is going to be keeping him out of nursery next week.  For a toddler, he's sure got a long memory!

Glad he enjoyed nursery. I bet you can't wait till he gets to go there every week. It'll be a nice break for you.
I am soooo glad our current church offers nursery from newborn to 5 years old. Oh and once they hit kindergarten, they go to sunday school during our worship service. It is so nice to get to enjoy the service without the twins, I don't think we'd ever go if they had to come with us every week. I'd spend the entire service more worried about them being behaved instead of listening to and enjoying the message.

Yes, I'm counting the weeks to nursery. I've heard people suggest they start nursery much earlier, and during sacrament meeting too. I think it's a great idea, until I thought, "what if they wanted me to work in the nursery?" So I'm fine with nursery at 18 months because I sure don't want to take care of someone else's baby instead of go to meetings! Is your nursery staffed with volunteers?

But yeah, with twins, I can see that. Boo is pretty mellow compared to memories of even my own little brothers. Maybe it's because he doesn't have any siblings to egg him on yet!

Cute Mr. Boo! I loved the part when he was signing "music" to you. Such a smart little boy. That is good that he enjoys nursery. Most little kids I see scream their heads off!

Yes our nursery is staffed with volunteers, but we have 4 services, with 3 of them back to back in the morning. So if they volunteer one service, they can attend another.

I think you are on the money regarding siblings. It takes two (or more) to tango.

I like the info on lil boofer...its amazing that at 28 weeks the baby is about 15 inches tall - when you realize that most babies are 18-20 at birth!! We are excited for Simon to get here.
