We live close to a couple of upcoming massive transportation construction projects. We've got a railroad line, and a big arterial road scheduled to go in. Then I saw this news article that says Utah is putting the brakes on many road construction projects because of declining tax revenues. The article didn't say anything about Utah County's Frontrunner line.
The Mountain View Corridor is on hold. That's the west side freeway that was coming down around Bangerter to connect to I-15 at Lehi along 2100 North. Here's a map. The full list of delayed projects is at UDOT's website, and then click on the link for "projects on hold."

Dang - the Layton South interchange is on that list too. Lets hope this recession ends quickly and they can get back on schedule soon. Either that or the feds can come in with some good work projects that include lots of road work!!
Do you want the roads in by you Melinda? I am so glad to see that you got the Internet connection fixed. It is glad to see you back. I bet you are dying of excitement for Dirk to come home. Heck I can't wait for Shawn to come home and he will only have been gone 10 days.
I'm thrilled with the delay. I doubt I'd ever use that road, because I don't have to commute, so the road is just more noise from my point of view.
I liked the spokesperson's idea of maybe downsizing some of these projects. With the slump in the housing market, the communities to our west that would have needed that road so badly may not grow as much as was originally projected, so we might not need as much road.
I can't say I am devistated about the delay!! Thanks for the info. I ought to read the news occasionally!
