We signed up for the Scholastic Book Club when Boo was born, and got three books per month for about 8 months. At that point, I decided we had lots of books at home, and we could always get more from the library. So I canceled the Book Club.
We don't go to the library with Boo because he likes to pull books off the shelves by the double handfuls. Glee! Once, he diverted himself from pulling books off the shelf when he discovered the loud noises that could be made by smacking the metal shelves. That was also not very popular with the librarians.
I read to him a lot because it's something I can do sitting down. Not surprisingly, both of us have most of his books memorized. I was reading a book of Dilbert cartoons, and Boo asked me to read it to him. So I did. Dilbert has been the book of choice all week. There's just something wrong with a toddler enjoying cubicle humor.
We've got to get the poor kid some different books. Maybe I'll pull out Calvin and Hobbes.

Or maybe "War and Peace" - after all we know that Benji doesn't have any choice but to be super intelligent! Grandma will look around and see what books she can bring down for Boo to enjoy!
My kids love Dilbert and Calvin and Hobbes. Audrey Wood has some great books. I would loan you ours if I hadn't just put them all in boxes this week and stuck them in storage shed. (kids books that is).
Oh good, on Friday at the library they pointed out where the oversized books are. I thought they were cool, but knew emma wouldn't really care (yet) about them, so I got a HUGE mother goose book for Benji and me to go through on Thursday.
I bet I have a few books (ok, a LOT) that Benji would love. I will bring a bunch next time I visit mom. We are going to be getting rid of tons of stuff b4 we move anyways. Oh and I have to recommend paperbackswap.com too. You have to post like 10 of your own books (hint find the books you never read and never will so you don't feel bad if they get requested) then you get to choose 3 free books, they have childrens books and every other type of book as well. Then everytime someone requests a book and you send it to them, you get a credit for a free book. The occasional trip to the post office is a pain, but it only costs a couple bucks to send a book and I have gotten a lot of really great books.
Woohoo! Hand-me-down books! I just swipe books occasionally from my sister. So voluntarily donated books would be a nice change. I really wasn't fishing for book offers when I posted this - I just thought it was funny he liked Dilbert. But hey, I'm not turning down any offers!
