Product Review

We use Gerber brand sippy cups. They are cute, easy to hold, and have a spill-proof valve. The valve is so good that when it just so happens that you find a sippy cup of orange juice in the washing machine at the end of the wash cycle, there is still orange juice in the cup! I did not try putting the sippy cup in the dryer, however, so I can't comment on the heat-resistant qualities of the plastic.

We use Pampers brand diapers. Pampers have Elmo on them, have refastenable tapes, and absorb a lot of moisture. The moisture absorbing capacity is so good that even a used diaper can gather more water when it goes through a wash cycle!

Quick! Which used diaper spent 45 minutes in the washing machine?

It occurs to me that I should start sifting the laundry, rather than upending the basket over the washing machine and just dumping everything in.

I love those comments, they are so true. You have a great sense of humor.

That is pretty funny! I once found a fork in the washing machine, don't have any idea how it got in there. I am surprised I've never washed a diaper or bottle!

You are lucky it did not explode in the washer. A diaper that explodes in the washer makes a huge mess. Don't ask me how I know that.

Well, I've never washed a sippy cup or a diaper, but before you think I'm all superior, it's because the clothes never seem to make it into a basket.

On a disgusting note, I pulled out the sheets and blankets my darling husband put in the washing machine at 3 in the morning while I was looking after a barfy baby. Did you know that the...ummm... larger bits of throw-up don't go down the drain?

So now I've got washed chunks mixed in with sheets. It's a joy.
