Memories

Since others have asked here is our edition:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

I didn't edit the wording to say so, but Melinda and I are both fair game.

Oh and I promise, at least a couple pictures are coming soon. I just have to remember to get the memory chip our of the camera.

Okay - of course I have lots and lots of memories of Dirk - he was a happy tow headed baby with a big big grin and hair so blond he looked bald. He was sooo excited when he turned 8 and could become a cub scout ...and there is a fun memory when they made the race cars in scouts and HIS car beat his DAD's car! That was one proud kid.

My favorite memory of Dirk is the Christmas that he replaced my china. Several years before my china hutch tipped off the base and ALL of my fine china broke into a million pieces. I cried for hours over DISHES!! The Christmas of 2004 he got up in the middle of the night and set my whole table with brand new china - he had found a place on the web to order out of stock outdated china and found my pattern. He had the table set perfectly with large plates and salad plates and desert plates and bowls and serving bowls. He wouldn't let me go into the kitchen Christmas morning until everyone was up and ready to watch...he had even wrapped up a box of kleenex for me in a beautiful foil wrap and chuckled as I opened it and said "oh, just what I needed - of box of tissues" Kecia and Glenn grinned at me and said "You will!" He then lead me blindfolded into the kitchen and yes...I used the tissues!! Neat kid!!

My favorite memory of Melinda is the day she and Dirk had their bridal pictures taken. Marilyn and I were following the happy couple around the yard as the photographer posed them here and there. Marilyn smiled sweetly and said - I have NEVER heard Melinda giggle like that before. She is soooo happy. Thank you Da for making my Dirk sooooo happy!

Dirk- Lots of memories from the singles ward! I remember how Dirk was so nice to everyone and would do anything to help. (Oh, and by the way...thank you for bringing Kelly to the picnic in the park!)

Melinda- When I first met Melinda, I remember thinking how nice and sweet she was and how Dirk got so lucky! She has a great sense of humor and I love talking with her! Too bad we live so far apart. :(

Alright I just read the China Christmas story and and it made me cry- what a great story!

I think you guys are a great couple- I appreciate the sacrifices you both are making for me & my family. Thank you!!

My first memory is when we first moved our records to the ward, Melinda was teaching Sunday School and I was totally excited to be in a class and actually learn something- she is a great teacher and really makes us think!! My favorite SS moment might just be last Sunday- that's all I'll say- I'll have to tell you in person if you don't know what I'm talking about... sorry to be so evasive.

You teaching my family the Gospel! I still remember how you had your hair down supported by the hair band. I always thought you looked so so so cute and wanted to be like you!
