Rollover Minutes

I got out a rattle for Simon, but Benji has adopted it. It's a phone, yes, but Ben hasn't seen anyone use a phone that looks like this. Everyone has a cell phone nowadays, and even regular phones are just rectangles. Ben's two toy phones are both cell phones. Do you own a phone that is two round pieces connected by a stick? Me neither. Yet he just knows this is a phone. It must be something instinctive.

Children mimic the adults around them. Do I really sound like this on the phone? You can be honest.

This video is so cute. When Conner was little I was asking him what sounds animals make. Then I decided to ask him "What does Mommy say?" He replied, shaking his hand, "No, no, no!" So kids do mimic their parents. Oh no!

I haven't seen a phone like that in years, it's true. I doubt That Ben watches Tom & Jerry cartoons- it must be instinctual... too cute!!

He looked and sounded like he was really listening and saying ooohhh, like he was following the conversation from the other end! CUTE!!

It's funny that he won't talk at a real phone with a real person on the other end. He still just pulls away and looks at it quietly. But give him a toy phone, and he's chatty!

I didn't think anyone had a rotary phone still! I don't think Kecia and Kelly would even know what that was!!

Of course I know what a rotary phone is. I always thought that if I were a real princess, I'd have a white phone like that with gold trimming...with all the curly cues and stuff. And mom...it wasn't that long ago that you guys got rid of that black rotary phone that used to hang in dad's office.
